To my self in a new light and in a stage of existence.

CONCEPT

The idea here is to validate that the subjective self cannot make a statement about the existence about the objective self without sounding like a mad person. But a subjective self can make a representation of a subjective self as an answer to the statement of the objective self in a not so obvious fallacious manner.

CONTEXT

Photoshop and oil pastels. The above is a portrait of 'I' or how i perceive myself relative to the world. The incongruity of me and my surroundings can be seen by the opposing direction of the pastels’ strokes. My arrogance is shouting at the world that is short of ideas and i fell short of it. This is done in a hidden manner for the few with the “eyes” to see.

I was given a set of oil pastel by my eldest sister around 2003 September. This is my third attempt at pastels since then. This piece was drawn without a break from 10pm till 7 in the morning punctured by a sub-conscious stage in between. I guessed i've found my style as far as technique is concerned for pastels.
